This celestial globe by Vincenzo Coronelli reproduces the Paris reissue of the globe dated 1688. The copy was designed by the painter Arnold Deuvez, of the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture, and was engraved by the chalcographer Jean-Baptiste Nolin. Although published in Paris, the captions are in Italian. The constellation names, reproduced with extreme accuracy, are in Italian, French, Latin, and Greek. Paired with the terrestrial globe inv. 2363. Provenance: Medici collections; in 1775, added to the Lorraine collections, which were incorporated into the Museo di Fisica e Storia Naturale of Florence.
