This terracotta model, commissioned by Giuseppe Galletti, shows an advanced stage of labor with the fetus in shoulder presentation or transverse presentation. The head is in the right half of the uterus and the back of the fetus faces downward. The inferior uterine segment is over-distended. The upper right and lower left limbs are visible in the vulva.
