    • Polyhedral dial (Inv. 3193)

Sundial in the shape of a pentagonal prism (like the similar item inv. 2460). Comprises a scaphe dial on the upper face and two vertical dials. It is fitted with gnomons and set for latitude 42° (Rome). The base holds a magnetic compass for orientation. Its construction characteristics suggest an attribution to Girolamo della Volpaia. Provenance: Medici collections.
