Cartographer and maker of terrestrial globes and scientific instruments. Son of Willem Jansz Blaeu (1571-1638). Worked with his brother in their father's business and continued it until 1672, when a fire destroyed his workshop. Official cartographer of the Dutch East India Company from 1638 to his death.
