Adolf & Georg Repsold firm

Firm producing astronomical instruments, founded by Johann Georg Repsold (1770-1830). He was succeeded by his sons Georg (1804-1885) and Adolf (1806-1871), whose customers included several astronomical observatories, among them Edinburgh, Pulkovo, Königsberg, and Christiania (Oslo). Adolf also worked for the Fire Department in Hamburg. In 1836, Karl August Steinheil (1801-1870) joined the Repsolds and, in the second half of the century, Adolf's two sons entered into partnership with their father.
