One of the commonest instruments in chemistry laboratories. It is a vessel provided with a curved neck, used for distillation. Made in different shapes and sizes. Was sometimes fitted with an aperture through which one could pour the substances to be distilled. Could also be heated from the outside to bake substances or produce chemical reactions.
